Dentistry is an extension of complete overall health in combating diseases affecting the teeth and gums as well as prevention, diagnosis and treatments surrounding a wide variety of oral conditions. Our services include the very best in general maintenance of oral hygiene and tooth health.
To ensure proper oral hygiene, The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends:
- Brush your teeth twice a day with an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won’t do a good job of cleaning your teeth.
- Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Tooth decay–causing bacteria still linger between teeth where toothbrush bristles can’t reach. This helps remove the sticky film on teeth called plaque and food particles from between the teeth and under the gum line.
- Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks.
- Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.
Remaining vigilant and visiting your dentist regularly can offer exceptional dental health. We will work with you to develop a customized dental hygiene plan upon dental examination. Helping to prevent decay or disease of the teeth, mouth, gums and tongue while providing care and quality is our goal. While prevention is the best measure of defense, Lake Cities Dental knows that happiness begins with a healthy smile.
